Ateneo looks to go 13-0 in UAAP Season 80. Arvin Lim, ABS-CBN Sports.

MANILA, Philippines -- In a Battle of Katipunan that has more implications than usual, Ateneo de Manila University and the University of the Philippines will go toe-to-toe on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Blue Eagles are determined to keep their unbeaten run going at the expense of the Maroons who are themselves determined to keep fighting in the UAAP 80 Men’s Basketball Tournament.

A win for Ateneo (12-0) will let them stay on pace for a sweep of the elimination round and will let them have all the momentum heading into their highly-anticipated rivalry game with De La Salle University on Sunday.

On the other hand, a win for UP (5-7) will breathe life to their fading playoff hopes while also ensuring that there will be a Final Four.

-- Tamaraws eyeing to eliminate Bulldogs --

Two things will happen if Far Eastern University triumphs over National University on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.

One, the Tamaraws will assure themselves of at least a playoff for the fourth and final semifinals berth.

Two, the Bulldogs will be out of contention in the 80th Season of the UAAP Men’s Basketball Tournament.

FEU (6-6) wants nothing more than for those two things to happen, but NU (4-8) has other plans when they clash at 2:00 PM. All of the action will be on S+A, S+A HD, and livestream.
