MANILA, Philippines – Brazilian mixed martial arts (MMA) legend Anderson "The Spider" Silva is willing to fight light-heavyweight champion Jon "Bones" Jones, but under one condition.
In an interview with Tatame, Silva said he will step into the Octagon with Jones if UFC president Dana White will give him half of the company.
"The question (about facing Jones) would have to be made to Dana White," Silva said.
"Let's ask if he'll give me 50% of the UFC. If he will, maybe this fight will happen," he added.
While Silva made the comment in jest, it does give fight fans some hope that "The Spider" is at least considering a match with Jones.
Silva and Jones are considered the best fighters pound-for-pound in MMA today, but both have been reluctant to fight each other.
White, however, remains confident that he will be able to put the match together.
