MANILA, Philippines – Filipino fight king Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao is making consistent progress in training camp as he prepares for his December 8 battle against rival Juan Manuel Marquez of Mexico.
His chief trainer, Freddie Roach, told PhilBoxing’s Eddie Alinea that the “Pacman” is improving as he enters his second week of training camp at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood.
“Everything went well, no problem,” Roach said. “He’s been improving as days go by.”
Pacquiao has already sparred 18 rounds with three different training partners, including longtime sparring partner Ray Beltran, in Week One of his Wild Card training camp.
He is set to be joined by two more sparring partners this week.
Earlier, Pacquiao tweeted that he had a “fun day at the Wild Card” while working the mitts with Roach.
“I did 13 rounds on the mitts with Freddie Roach today. I wanted to do more but he said I wore him out,” Pacquiao tweeted.
Pacquiao spent the first part of his training camp at General Santos City in the Philippines, instead of Baguio City as has been his routine in previous fights.
