MANILA, Philippines – Mixed martial arts (MMA) superstar Georges St-Pierre has tapped an old foe to help him prepare for his upcoming fight against Carlos Condit in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 154.
Dan Hardy, who was outpointed by St-Pierre in UFC 111, is helping the French-Canadian to figure out Condit, according to St-Pierre’s coach Firas Zahabi.
Zahabi said Hardy’s experience with Condit will be useful in St-Pierre’s welterweight title defense.
Condit knocked out Hardy in UFC 120, but Zahabi thinks it was a close fight.
"Yes, he got stopped by Condit, but I think it was one inch away from being the other way around,” Zahabi told MMA Fighting.
“I think he's a very good look for us to see what it's going to be like when Georges fights Condit."
St-Pierre will be fighting Condit in the main event of UFC 154, the promotion's undisputed welterweight champion.
The fight takes place on November 17, in Montreal, Canada.
