MANILA, Philippines – Hard-hitting American boxer Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios promises to surprise Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao when they fight on November 24 in Macau by showing the “Pacman” that he is a “live dog” inside the boxing ring.

“Everybody’s giving me no chance. Everybody has already marked me off. They’re over-looking me,” said Rios in a Ring TV interview.

“I just want to show the world and let them know that he (Pacquiao) is in there with a live dog. He’s not in there with a little puppy,” he stressed. “He’s in there with a live dog who wants to show the world that he’s the best and that he wants to be the best and wants to fight the best.”

Rios, who became a fan favorite because of his all-action, brawling style of fighting, said he will be a “pit bull, mixed with a Great Dane, mixed with a Rottweiler, mixed with a Bull Terrier, mixed with a half-horse” against Pacquiao come fight night.

“I’m going to be a mix of everything. Anything, that’s the kind of dog that I am going to be,” he said.

His trainer, Robert Garcia, noted that it is no secret what Rios plans to do against Pacquiao.

“Everyone knows what Brandon is going to do,” admitted Garcia, who also trains Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire. “Everybody knows how he fights, and ain’t nothing going to change.”

“Brandon has always been the brawler, and that’s what we’re going to go out and do in this fight,” he added. “Brandon’s going to go out there and make it into a brawl, and that’s the only way Brandon can fight, and that’s the only way Brandon knows how to fight.”

Rios has repeatedly said in interviews that he believes he is being counted out by the boxing media, and reiterated that he plans to silence those doubters when he fights Pacquiao.

“It doesn’t matter, but everybody’s out there saying it,” he said. “I just want to go out and shut everybody up and prove them wrong.”
