Barako Bull's Toroman gets the boot

MANILA, Philippines – The Barako Bull management sacked Serbian coach Rajko Toroman from his post as consultant of the Energy Cola team.

The former national team coach confirmed to’s Richard Dy that he was relieved of his duties following the team’s 4-5 finish in the recent PBA Governors’ Cup.

"I don't want to talk about it. It's the decision of management," he said.

After his stint with Petron Blaze, Toroman was hired by Barako Bull as an active team consultant last February.

San Miguel Beermen coach Leo Austria and current Petron manager Siot Tanqungicen are reportedly being considered as possible replacements for Toroman.

Toroman was previously hired by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas to coach the Philippine team, which he led into a fourth-pace finish in the 2011 FIBA Asia Championship.

He also coached the Iranian basketball team that made it to the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
