Talks are rife online about reported plans to move Star’s Paul Lee to newly crowned PBA Governors’ Cup champion Barangay Ginebra.

But Star Hotshots’ board representative Rene Pardo immediately quashed speculations.

“Wala akong plano [to trade Lee]. Ewan ko sa amo namin, pero sabi ko nga, ‘di na ako papayag, kasi nawala na nga sa akin si James Yap tapos kukunin pa nila sa amin si Paul. Eh dehadong dehado na kami niyan,” Pardo said in FOX Sports Asia.

The Hotshots recently let go of Yap, a two-time MVP, to Rain or Shine to acquire Lee.

But Star and Ginebra belong to the San Miguel Corp. (SMC) group of PBA teams, which is why a trade between the two clubs is possible.

Pardo said they are willing to give Lee, the 2016 PBA Press Corps Comeback Player, a maximum three-year contract. The deal is worth P15.1 million.

“Okay naman sa akin si Paul Lee. Bata pa iyan saka oo-feran ko naman siya ng maximum na three years. Eh max na siya dati sa Rain or Shine,” he said.

Lee recently married his fiancée Ruby Chua and is currently on vacation.

The “Leethal Weapon” is expected to join Star this Sunday to join the Hotshots in welcoming a new set of rookies in the Annual PBA Draft.
