MANILA – James Yap is a picture of a content man these days as both his personal and professional life seem to be both doing well.

Yap’s team, the San Mig Coffee Mixers, had just won the PBA Governor’s Cup, while the star athlete also continues to be inspired by his Italian girlfriend, Michela Cazzola, who had watched all his games in the league.

“Siyempre masaya kasi lahat ng players gusto mag-champion. Pang-apat ko ng champion ito so sobrang blessed,” he told ABS-CBN News.

As for his girlfriend, he said: “Nandyan sya lagi and lahat ng game nanonood siya. Support niya nandyan lagi. Okay naman nakakatuwa.”

In addition, Yap reported that all's well between him and his son with ex-wife Kris Aquino, James “Bimby” Yap Jr.

“Okay naman. May movie daw siya’ di ba so sana maganda ang movie niya,” he said, referring to the boy's debut film, "My Little Bossings," which is an entry to this year's Metro Manila Film Festival.

While he is not sure if he can attend his son's premiere night, he is hoping people would watch the movie.

In a separate interview, Yap also revealed that his son has yet to meet Cazzola. "Hindi pa niya nakilala pero kailangan makilala niya," the PBA star was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, Yap also recently launched his own business, MotoTechnika, along with partners Mikael Coyiuto and Jeff Yap, which is an official distributor of Italian scooter brands Vespa, Piaggio and Aprilla.

“Sana suportahan nila 'yung bago kong business, MotoTechnika. Thank you talaga kay God na binless niya ko,” he said.

Yap hopes that his first "major business" would be a success as he admitted that a career in basketball will not last forever.

"Sana mag-click," he said. "Alam naman natin, basketball hindi pang-habang buhay kaya ko pinasok 'to."

With all the successes he is currently enjoying, Yap said he also wants to take some time off to be with his family during the upcoming long weekend.

“Actually may plano kaming umuwi ako ng Escalante, sa province ko, so sasama siya (Cazzola) at doon kami may ha-halloween. At least okay naman dahil nameet na rin naman niya family ko,” he said.

As for Christimas, he said: “Wala pang plans kasi kaka-champion lang naming… Siguro may 10 days lang na walang practice then, after that, practice na naman so wala pang plano sa Christmas.”
