MANILA, Philippines -- HBO Sports is expecting huge pay-per-view (PPV) sales from the third collision between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez on November 12.
Mark Taffet, HBO’s Senior Vice President of Sports Operation, said boxing trilogies have always attracted the attention of boxing fans through the years.
“I’ve been involved with HBO PPV for 20 years and we’ve presented over 170 fights,” Taffet said in Boxingscene.com. “We’re looking forward to a great fight on Nov. 12 between Pacquiao and Marquez- the conclusion of one of the great trilogies of our era.”
At stake in the fight is Pacquiao's WBO welterweight title.
The bout will take place at a 144-pound catchweight.
Taffet also expects PPV success in the Miguel Cotto-Antonio Margarito rematch on December 3.
“We know it’s going to be a great success on PPV because simply: you know going in that a great fight is going to take place,” he said.
