MANILA, Philippines – The undercard of the HBO pay-per-view fight card between rivals Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao of the Philippines and Juan Manuel Marquez of Mexico is beginning to take shape.
According to a report from RingTV, undefeated Cuban featherweight Yuriorkis Gamboa may fight Mexico’s Miguel Beltran Jr. on the Pacquiao-Marquez IV undercard.
Pacquiao and Marquez will face off for a fourth time on December 8 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Gamboa, a former featherweight champion, has not fought since September. He is currently being promoted by rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who is working with Top Rank.
“It would be very likely that Gamboa is going to be on the card as long as we’re working with 50 Cent, who is working with Gamboa,” said Top Rank boss Bob Arum in an interview with RingTV.
“Obviously, they’re talking about him going on the card and fighting this Mexican kid who had the great fight with Rocky Martinez, Beltran,” Arum added.
Arum has not yet announced who else will be on the undercard, although Tha Boxing Voice has also reported that unbeaten featherweight contender Javier Fortuna will battle Patrick Hyland on the undercard.
