MANILA, Philippines – Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos of Brazil was not happy to find out that Alistair Overeem and Chael Sonnen have both received opportunities to fight for UFC gold.

Overeem, who is currently serving a suspension for a failed drug test, will receive a shot at the heavyweight title against the winner of the bout between Dos Santos and former beltholder Cain Velasquez late December.

Meanwhile, Sonnen, a former middleweight contender, moved up to the light-heavyweight division and is set to fight champion Jon "Bones" Jones next April.

In an interview with Fighters Only, Dos Santos admitted that he had a problem with how both men got their title shots.

"It's kind of out of order," Dos Santos said. "Nowadays, the UFC is prioritizing those fights which will sell well."

"A prime example of this was Chael Sonnen, who sold his fight very well. Overeem has followed the same path," he said.

Sonnen is coming off a loss against middleweight king Anderson Silva of Brazil, but was able to get a title shot against Jones without first establishing himself as a true contender in the light heavyweight division.

But Dos Santos said he is ready for all comers, regardless of how they earned their title shots.

"For me, bring it on. I do not run from any challenge. I know I can beat anyone whatsoever," he said. "Come whoever comes, I will do my best to go out with a win in the Octagon."

Dos Santos' rematch with Velasquez will take place on December 29 at UFC 155. Dos Santos had beaten Velasquez for the heavyweight title last November 2011, in a bout that had lasted just over a minute.

"This time, as Cain himself said, he wants the fight to be longer... He is an excellent wrestler and I believe he will want to take it to the floor," Dos Santos said. "But I am not afraid, I am 100% ready to defend the belt."
