MANILA, Philippines – International Boxing Federation (IBF) light-flyweight champion Johnriel Casimero will soon find out who his next opponent will be.

Luis Alberto Rios of Panama and Felipe Salguero of Mexico will fight on October 25 in a bout to determine the number one contender to Casimero’s title, according to PhilBoxing.

The winner will most likely fight Casimero for the title next March.

“Obviously, we are paying attention to the Rios-Salguero fight as the winner will be the challenger of our world champion Johnriel Casimero,” said promoter Sammy Gelo-Ani in an interview with PhilBoxing.

“Good luck to Rios and Salguero and may the best man win. Casimero will be ready for the winner,” he added.

Rios has a record of 17 wins against one loss and one draw. He has won his last six fights, all by knockouts.

Meanwhile, Salguero has a record of 16 wins, three losses and one draw. He is coming off a loss against Filipino champion Donnie Nietes last June.
