MANILA, Philippines – Ronato “The Volcano” Alcano pocketed the 9-Ball title in the Championship Cloth 5th Annual Pro over the weekend by crushing Robb Saez in the finals that took place in Louisiana.

After absorbing a setback in the opener, Alcano strung together eight consecutive wins to arrange a title duel against Saez.

Among Alcano’s victims were Francisco “Django” Bustamante, Israel Rota, Mike Davis, Wang Can, Ralph Eckert and Charlie WiIlliams.

In the finals, Saez and Alcano engaged in a tight game, tying the scores at 5-5.

Saez was running shot an easy dead 5 ball to 7 ball combo. But Alcano called a loss of turn because Saez did not call the ball.

This turned the tide and Saez was not able to regain control of the match. Alcano cruised through to an 11-7 victory.

The happiest person over Alcano’s victory might be Shane Van Boening who sponsored the Filipino in this event.

Alcano actually ousted Boening in the eliminations, but it’s likely he was forgiven now with the Filipino’s title win.

The Championship Cloth 5th Annual Pro Classic ran from October 16 to 20.

The events take place side by side to the Ozone Billiards US Amateur Open, all hosted by Emerald Billiards and produced by Dragon Promotions.

The event is co-sponsored by Predator Cues, Poison Cues, Aramith Balls, Pool & Billiard Magazine and sanctioned as an ABP International Rankings Points Tournament.

The events are being streamed live on and sponsored by Ozone Billiards and Predator Cues.
