MANILA, Philippines – Top Filipino bantamweight AJ “Bazooka” Banal wants an abrupt end in his title clash against Pungluang Sor Singyu as he goes for a knockout versus the veteran Thai boxer on Saturday.

Banal, who is known for his knockout power, promised his fans that he will be treating them with "fistic fireworks" in the main event of Pinoy Pride XVII.

Magandang laban ito. Bakbakan talaga,” he told boxing commentator Ronnie Nathanielsz.

“If I can knock him out in the first round, the second round then good,” added the 23-year-old Bukidnon native during the Pinoy Pride XVII press conference.

But his opponent Sor Singyu said he knows how to beat Banal.

The Thai boxer is already a veteran of 43 fights with 42 wins and 1 defeat.

“I have seen Banal’s fights and I’m not worried. I will knock him out in the sixth round,” said Sor Singyu.

After hearing Sor Singyu’s statement, Banal fired back: “It's good he predicted the sixth round, then I’ll knock him out in the fifth. If he says the fourth, I’ll knock him out in the third.”

Banal has a professional record of 28 wins spiked by 20 knockouts. Like Sor Singyu, he only has 1 defeat.

The fight, which will be for the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) bantamweight belt, will be at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena on Saturday night.

Also included in the card are popular IBF International featherweight champion Rey "Boom Boom" Bautista and WBO International light welterweight champion Jason Pagara.

Bautista will battle Mexico's WBC Latino super featherweight champion Daniel Ruiz. Pagara will wage war against Miguel "Hands of Stone" Antoine from Barbados.

The fight card will be telecast on Sunday starting 10:15 a.m. on Channel 2.
