Kiamco advances to Johnny Archer semi-finals

MANILA, Philippines – Filipino cue artist Warren Kiamco cruised to the semi-finals of the Johnny Archer Classic 10-Ball Championships Monday at the Marietta Billiards in Marietta, Georgia.

Kiamco stamped his class over American Mike Davis, 9-6, to remain undefeated in the Dragon Promotions production event that offers $4,625 as the top prize.

In the next round, Kiamco will meet Jonathan Pinegar of the US, who brought down fellow American Shannon Daulton, 9-7.

Earlier, Kiamco defeated Jeffrey Helie, 9-6, James Giorella, 9-2, Mark Ritter, 9-6, and then Shawn Putnam, 9-5.

Kiamco is fresh from winning back-to-back titles at the Houston Open in the Legends Billiards League City in Texas, and in the Open/Pro event of the Predator Tour at The Cue Bar in Bayside, New York.

Meanwhile, Daulton and Shane Van Boening of the US hurdled their respective assignments in the loser’s brackets to face each other in another Final Four tussle.

Daulton ousted Hunter Lombardo of the US, 9-7, while Van Boening nipped Davis, 9-2. -- By Marlon Bernardino
