CALIFORNIA - Filipino-born Nonito "Filipino Flash" Donaire and Japanese Toshiaki Nishioka met face to face on Friday (October 12) at the weigh-in ahead of their bout in Los Angeles.
Both fighters, who each weighed-in just under the 122 lb mark, bring a strong resume into the bout.
WBO/IBF junior featherweight champion Donaire (29-1, 18 KOs), a native of General Santos City, Philippines, now living in the Bay Area of San Leandro, California, enters this fight riding an 11-year, 28-bout winning streak.
Nishioka (39-4-3, 24 KOs), of Hyogo, Japan, boasts an eight-year, 16-bout winning streak in his own right, including eight world title fights.
The Donaire vs. Nishioka bout will take place on Saturday, October 13 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California and will be broadcast live on HBO.
