MANILA, Philippines - United States (US) President Barack Obama says he is heartbroken over the delay in the 2011-2012 National Basketball Association (NBA) season.

NBA Commissioner David Stern announced yesterday that the first two weeks of the season will be cancelled after the league and the NBA Players Association failed to come up with a new collective bargaining agreement.

Obama is now urging all involved in the league to come up with an agreement.

"I'm a little heartbroken the NBA season is getting delayed here. So, I'm hoping that those guys are back on the court soon," Obama said.
