MANILA -- Meralco’s Jared Dillinger will be coming into the PBA Governors’ Cup finals against Barangay Ginebra this Friday specially motivated.
The versatile small forward-guard wants to win the title for his ailing grand mom in the US.
"For me, it's been a tough couple of months. My 'Mamang' is fighting to stay alive to watch the finals. If we win, it would be for her. All goes out to her," Dillinger told the PBA website.
The Bolts will be locked in a race-to-four title series against the fancied Gin Kings in Lucena.
Dillinger wasn’t able to play the last time Meralco figured in a title tussle with Ginebra last season due to an injury.
"I've been waiting too damn long for this. This is what we wanted - finals rematch," he said.
The Bolts will also attempt to win the championship for their team governor Al Panlilio, who has been out due to a medical condition.
"At the start of the conference, we got together and talked about winning the tourney for Governor Al who's very much involved with planning and everything in our team," said team manager Paolo Trillo.
