MANILA, Philippines – Bantamweight champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire will go for a knockout victory against unbeaten Argentinian Omar Narvaez when they meet in the ring on October 22 at Madison Square Garden.

“For me, the most satisfying victory is a knockout victory. I would look for that if I can see it, but I’m not going to force the issue,” Donaire said during his public workout last week at the Undisputed Gym in San Carlos, California.
Donaire admitted that he still does not know much about Narvaez, but said, “He’s a legend in Argentina.”
“In terms of who he is and what he has done in boxing, he’s been a great champion,” Donaire added.
He is also determined to give Narvaez, who is undefeated through 35 career bouts, his first loss in the ring.
“Ang kalaban ko, ang daming laban, wala pang talo. Ang biggest challenge ko ngayon ay bigyan s’ya ng first loss n’ya,” he said.
This will be Donaire’s first title defense and his first bout since his spectacular second round knockout victory over Fernando Montiel last February.
“Last 6 months or 8 months ata ang break ko, so medyo may ring rust pa ako, pero OK na ako ngayon,” Donaire said.
