Warriors crush Stags in Fr. Martin

MANILA, Philippines – The University of the East (UE) Red Warriors outplayed the San Sebastian College-B Stags, 75-49, to move one step closer to claiming the top quarterfinal seat in their bracket in the 10th Fr. Martin Division 2 Cup.

RR de Leon banged in 24 points, while Renz Palma and Mustapha Arafat each fired 13 points for the Red Warriors, who marched to their sixth win in seven games in Group B of the men’s division at the TIP gymnasium in Quiapo, Manila.

Meanwhile, the San Beda Red Cubs prevailed over the Adamson Baby Falcons, 66-49, to score their fifth consecutive win in Group A of the juniors division.

Mark Anthony Framil scored 11 points, while the Noorish Decapia had 10 points for the Red Cubs. San Beda remains on course for the first semi-finals in their group.

In other juniors games, the Xavier School Stallions drew 26 points from Paolo Susmerano as they walloped St. Joseph-Bulacan, 105-59, to stay on target for a semi-finals slot in Group B at 5-1.

The UE Junior Warriors meanwhile defeated Trinity, 59-56, behind a 14-point effort from Ricky Mandilao.
