LA Tenorio acknowledged that Game 3 between Barangay Ginebra and TNT in the PBA Governors’ Cup semifinals on Friday was both physical and emotional.
But the physicality is just part of the game especially at this stage of the tournament, he said.
“Parehong team kasi gustong manalo. Nagkakaroon lang minsan ng mga hindi inaasahan, but that's part of the game,” Tenorio said after Ginebra won 106-103 to gain a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 series.
The veteran point guard said it was crucial to show Ginebra is no pushover.
“We're not gonna back down on their physicality, that's why we lost (Game 2) because of the physicality and aggressiveness of Talk n Text. So now we came up more aggressive than them so sila iyong parang naging victim,” said Tenorio, who finished with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 8 steals in nearly 37 minutes of play.
He also refuted claims that Ginebra got favorable calls.
“Officiating is beyond our control every game. They're saying we got a lot of fouls compared to them, but we're always on the penalty every quarter, di ba?” said Tenorio.
What’s important, he said, was that Ginebra dictated the tempo especially now that Tenorio and company are the last San Miguel Corp. team in contention.
“Kami na lang ang chance ng San Miguel company,” he said. “So kailangang buhatin ang kumpanya namin, kami na ang last chance.”
