The confrontation between Barangay Ginebra team governor Alfrancis Chua and TNT head coach Nash Racela showed how heated Game 3.
Chua and Racela figured in a verbal spat, as both teams walked to their respective dugouts during halftime on Friday.
But Racela maintained he didn’t start the ruckus.
"Gusto niyo malaman iyong totoo? Baka ma-fine na naman ako kapag nagsalita pa ako," Racela was quoted as saying by ABS-CBN Sports after Ginebra defeated TNT 106-103 to take a 2-1 lead in their best-of-5 series.
"You all know me, I won't start something. You all know me too well. And you all know the other guys too well. That's all I can say."
When asked about the issue, Ginebra coach Tim Cone said he didn’t need to defend Chua since he is “his own man.”
“He doesn't need a babysitter or anything like that. He takes care of himself. I'm not gonna tell him what to do. He's boss,” he said during the postgame presser.
“He's doing what he thinks is right for the team and he had his own style, which is fantastic to me.”
