MANILA, Philippines -Green Archers United FC leaned on a late goal by Christian Floriano Pasilan Jr. as it escaped with a stunning 1-1 draw with title-contender Kaya FC in the United Football League Cup at the Rizal Memorial pitch late Tuesday night.

Pasilan, who scored 12 goals last season, came to the Archers rescue just in time as he rammed in a goal straight into the Kaya wall on the 88th minute to force the standoff.

Fil-Am Nate Burkey struck in the fifth minute, cashing in on Archers goalie Patrick Deyto and defender Reynald Villareal’s miscommunication to put Kaya on top in the early going of the contest.

Green Archers United and Kaya thus showed the way in Group B, that includes Diliman Victory Liner FC, Dolphins United FC and Forza FC.

Diliman Victory Liner FC and Forza FC, meanwhile, clash in the main game at 9 tonight at the University of Makati field in Makati City.

Phl Navy Red Juice and newcomer General Trias collide at 7 p.m. in a Group A match.

Global FC plastered Pasargad FC, 3-1, in Tuesday’s Cup inaugurals to seize early lead in Group A.
