Baguio not mad over Pacman's full camp in US
MANILA, Philippines – The mayor of Baguio City is not mad at Manny Pacquiao for the boxer’s decision to set his entire training camp in the US.
Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan said he is actually supportive of any action that will lead to Pacquiao’s victory.
“Ang importante ay manalo siya. We leave it to his discretion at saka 'yung wise decision ng kanyang handler, kung saan best na mag-train, kung saan focused s’ya,” said Domogan in PTV Sports.
(What’s important is he wins… We leave it to his discretion and the wise decision of his handler about the site where it’s best for him to train).
Pacquiao used to split his training camp between the City of Pines and Los Angeles. But his recent loss to Timothy Bradley has prompted him to forego the high-altitude training in Baguio City.
Freddie Roach said Pacquiao tends to lose focus in training due to the boxer’s various commitment in the Philippines.
Domogan actually believe that the Baguio training has helped Pacquiao to perform well against Bradley.
“Malas lang na ganun ang ginawa sa kanya ng judges… Kitang kita naman nanalo si Pacquiao sa laban na ‘yan eh (Luck was not with him because of what the judges did… it’s clear that Pacquiao won that fight),” he said.
