MANILA, Philippines – Former wrestling superstar Batista will be facing a legitimate fighter in his mixed martial arts (MMA) debut on pay-per-view on October 6.

MMA fighting reported that Batista, Dave Bautista in real life, will be slugging it out against Vince Lucero, a veteran of 45 MMA fights.

The Filipino-Greek behemoth was supposed to faceoff against Rashid Evans.

Evans, however, was sent back to jail after committing a probation violation for driving without a valid license.

Lucero, who has a record of 22-22-1, has been fighting for 13 years. His most notable win was against Josh Haynes in 2004 but he also lost to a number of named fighters like Roy Nelson, Justin Eilers, Ruben "Warpath" Villareal and Tim Sylvia.

Batista has decided to do MMA after leaving the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

He has already fought twice this year on the "Rage in the Cage" show. His most recent fight was a split-decision victory over Mike Martinez in April.

He slimmed down to make the 265-pound limit of the heavyweight division for his PPV debut in Classic Entertainment and Sports: Real Pain in Providence, Rhode Island.
