MANILA, Philippines -- The San Beda Red Lions inched closer to nabbing a twice-to-beat bonus in the NCAA men's basketball with a 101-67 blowout of the Lyceum Pirates on Friday.

Lyceum tried but failed to avenge its 89-69 first round loss to San Beda as the Lions blitzed away with a fast-paced game.

Kyle Pascual led the Red Lions with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

San Beda dictated the tempo very early, zooming to a 30-14 lead in the 1st quarter.

The Red Lions compiled a total of 18 fast-break points in the first half alone.

Chico Lanete teamed up with Kyle and Jake Pascual to pile up a 22-point advantage for San Beda in the third, 71-49.

The Red Lions didn't let up in the final quarter, scoring 30 points against the Pirates' 18.

San Beda, currently at No. 2, improved its record to 14-2 to distance itself from 3rd placer Letran.

Lyceum absorbed its 10th loss in 16 games.
