FIBA Asia Champions Cup: Chooks-to-Go routs UAE club, eyes 5th place next

Kiefer Ravena scored 20 points in 20 minutes and LA Revilla added 12 points on a perfect shooting night from the field, as Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas stymied UAE club Shabab al Ahli-Dubai’s offense in the second quarter to win 92-57 in the FIBA Asia Champions Cup classification stage in Chenzhou city, China on Friday.

Chooks-to-Go kept alive its hopes of placing 5th in the tournament. 

The Filipino squad will battle Mono Vampire Basketball Club of Thailand Saturday with that finish in mind.

Ahead by 6 after the first quarter, Chooks-to-Go put on the afterburners in the second, outscoring Shabab 23-13. Ravena accounted for 10 points in that run.

Almond Vosotros contributed 14 points, while Isaiah Austin finished with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists.

Ravena missed only 3 of his 11 field-goal attempts, while Revilla made all five tries from the floor.

Overall, Chooks-to-Go shot 52% from the field (39 of 75), while Shabab made only 23 of 71 for 32%.
