MANILA, Philippines – Former mixed martial arts (MMA) heavyweight contender Shane Carwin sustained a minor knee injury while training.
But Carwin, who lost in a highly publicized fight against Brock Lesnar in UFC 116, is still likely to battle Roy Nelson in Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) The Ultimate Fighter (TUF).
To fully recuperate, Carwin will be skipping his scheduled visit to England.
“ATTN UK Fans: I hurt my knee training and I will not be able to make the signing with the amazing people @FearlessUK,” Carwin said through his Twitter account.
Carwin's manager Jason Genet said the fighter injured the knee while doing wrestling practice.
Carwin will face Nelson in the TUF Finale on December 15.
