NU, UST improve to 4-0 in UAAP girls' volleyball

MANILA, Philippines – Defending champion National University (NU) and top challenger University of Santo Tomas both (UST) extended their unbeaten runs in the UAAP Season 80 high school volleyball tournament on Monday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

Both the NU and UST girls' volleyball teams improved to 4-0 after dominating their respective foes.

The Bullpups made quick work of Far Eastern University-Diliman, 25-14, 25-18, 25-8, while the Junior Tigresses downed University of the East, 25-14, 25-23, 25-12.

In the boys' division, NU and UST both scored straight sets victories to solidify their hold on the top two spots.

The Bullpups overcame a close second set to turn back De La Salle-Zobel, 25-14, 28-26, 25-20. The Tiger Cubs, meanwhile, bested Adamson University, 25-18, 25-16, 25-13.

The NU boys team now has a perfect 4-0 slate, while UST is not far behind at 3-1.

Action continues on Sunday with a lone girls match and a four-game bill in the boys division at the same San Juan venue.
