MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao’s adviser Michael Koncz said Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be very much welcome to join the proposed business venture between the Filipino boxer and rapper 50 Cent.
"We've very close to it, I've been talking to 50 Cent now for over a month and a half, close to two months. It's becoming a reality, more than a possibility," Koncz said of the talks between Pacquiao and 50 Cent in an interview with MTV.
Koncz said the camp of 50 Cent initiated talks of a joint promotional venture between the rapper and the boxer.
He said Pacquiao is excited about working with 50 Cent because of the rapper’s connections within the entertainment industry.
"I think we're going to end up doing something together before the year is out," said Koncz.
Recent reports, however, indicate an ongoing rift between the rapper and his bossom buddy, Mayweather, that led to the collapse of their “The Money Team” (TMT) Promotions.
Koncz said the Pacquiao venture had no part in the rift.
"No, it's not because of this, and I believe they have a true friendship and all true friends have arguments periodically, but that's not my business," he sadi.
He added that Mayweather is always welcome to link up with their group.
"Floyd is always welcome, if we put this together, the door will always be open for Floyd to join in… We don't have a problem with Floyd. Manny doesn't have any anger or resentment."
