MANILA, Philippines – Mexican boxer Juan Manuel Marquez said Manny Pacquiao will first need to worry about their fourth fight before entertaining thoughts of a lucrative fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
"If Manny wants to fight Mayweather, he needs to beat me," Marquez said during their appearance at ESPN’s First Take.
The Mexican warned that Pacquiao will be up for a difficult fight in their fourth face-off, and that it would be better for the Filipino to focus on his training.
“He have a tough fight on December the 8th,” said Marquez.
Pacquiao and Marquez already figured in three close battles.
Their first fight in 2004 ended in a controversial draw, while their next two fights in 2008 and 2011 had Pacquiao winning by decision.
Marquez maintained that he won all of his fights against Pacquiao.
He claimed that the judges have been scoring their fights wrong.
“The judges... I don't know what happened to the judges,” said Marquez.
