MANILA, Philippines – Top Rank Inc. president Todd DuBoef believes fight fans will never get tired watching Manny Pacquiao slugging it out against Juan Manuel Marquez.

DuBoef told Max Boxing that fight fans always follow great rivalries and that they gave fans what they want by arranging a fourth clash between Pacquiao and Marquez.

“It’s about the fans and what the consumers want,” he said.

“Before I came to the press conference, I wanted my guys to pull some of the great four-plus fight [series] that have occurred, the rivalries,” said DuBoef.

He cited that fans have followed the monumental battles of Gene Tunney versus Harry Greb, Beau Jack versus Bob Montgomery, “Sugar” Ray Robinson versus Jake LaMotta, and Sandy Saddler versus Willie Pep.

“These guys are some of the biggest names in the history of the sport that had four-plus fight [series] and were archrivals in great matches,” said DuBoef.

With regards to the Pacquiao-Marquez bout, he said the match up already has a history of high ticket and pay-per-view sells.

“We’ve seen the outpouring of response, ticket sales; the consumers have loved 36 great rounds. I don’t know how you could be fatigued about this.”
