MANILA, Philippines – The Adamson University Blue Falcons dominated the University of the East (UE) Red Warriors from start to finish en route to an 89-69 win at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Saturday.
The Falcons started the game firing on all cylinders behind the hot shooting of rookie standout Jericho Cruz and Roider Cabrera.
Cruz finished with 21 points (four 3-pointers) and 8 assists.
Cabrera chipped in 15 points on 5 of 8 shooting from 3-point distance.
Adamson broke away as early as the first quarter, when they held a 14-point lead over the Warriors.
The Falcons exhibited their shooting prowess from beyond the arc, hitting 13 out of 28 attempts.
Aside from the 3-point barrage, the Falcons also played unselfishly, finishing with a team total 29 assists.
UE, meanwhile, was led by Chris Javier, who scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a losing effort.
Adamson and UE are now tied for 6th place with identical 3-10 win-loss records.
Both teams have been eliminated from Final Four contention at the UAAP 75th men's basketball tournament.
