MANILA, Philippines – The Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles' drive for a fifth straight UAAP championship suffered a blow Monday when it was revealed that reserve center JP Erram had sustained a season-ending injury.

Ateneo's JP Erram suffers an ACL injury.

"Erram has an ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) injury and will miss the rest of the season," Ateneo head coach Norman Black said in a text message to

Erram was fighting for a rebound in the Eagles’ last game against the Adamson Falcons when he fell to the floor towards the end of the third quarter.

Erram did not get up immediately and eventually had to be helped to the bench.

The Blue Eagles still won, 79-72, to move to 10-2 and clinch their 14th straight Final Four berth.

Erram has been an integral part of Black’s rotation, coming off the bench as the primary reserve for Greg Slaughter. Before his injury, he has averaged 3.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.0 block per game in almost nine minutes of action per contest.
