MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) – Terrence Romeo exploded for 32 points to help Far Eastern University (FEU) secure a ticket to the Final Four via a 92-80 win over Adamson University on Saturday’s UAAP men’s basketball.
Mark Belo had a career-high 18 points for FEU while RR Garcia added 14 as they rescued the Tamaraws from a two-game slump.
After trailing Adamson by 2 points in the first quarter, FEU closed the first half with a 44-40 lead.
Jericho Cruz and Ingrid Sewa made it a 2-point game for the Falcons, 44-42, early in the third. But Belo rallied the Tamaraws to a 19-3 run that put FEU further ahead, 66-45.
The triumvirate of Belo, Garcia and Romeo struck again in the fourth as they jacked up the Tamaraws’ lead to 19 points, 80-61.
Romeo finished the game with a season-high 32 points, breaking his 30-point output against the University of the East Red Warriors.
He also grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 4 assists.
With the victory, the Morayta-based dribblers notched their 9th win against 4 defeats. FEU also nabbed the solo-second place ahead of De La Salle University (8-4).
Adamson, meanwhile, fell to 4-9.
