Bradley Sr. says son would’ve KO'd Pacquiao
MANILA, Philippines – The father of welterweight champion Timothy Bradley Jr. has claimed that fight fans are eager to see his son face Manny Pacquiao in a rematch.
Timothy “Ray” Bradley Sr. said it would only be right for Pacquiao and Bradley to get it on again after their controversial fight last June.
“Both fighters owe it to the fans,” the elder Bradley stated in Boxing Scene. “The fans want to see a rematch.”
Pacquiao clearly dominated Bradley in their 12-round World Boxing Organization (WBO) title fight.
But the boxing community was outraged after the judges handed a controversial split decision victory to Bradley.
Bradley Sr. said his son is “not getting justice” for being ridiculed over his win.
“He worked his butt off, he’s not getting justice. They should automatically jump on it and redo it,” he said.
Bradley Sr. said that in the old days of boxing, fighters would go for a rematch following a controversial outcome.
He also claimed that the younger Bradley would have knocked out Pacquiao if not for his son’s injury midway the fight.
“I feel that Pacquiao would have got knocked the hell out if my son would have been able to shift the power on either leg but he could not do that,” said Bradley Sr.
