Xavier School registers win, too

MANILA, Philippines -- The University of the East (UE) Warriors, the Informatics Icons and the Xavier School Golden Stallions romped off with big wins in the 10th Fr. Martin Division 2 Cup at the St. Placid gymnasium of the San Beda College-Mendiola campus in Manila.

JM Noble and Mustapha Arafat led with 15 and 13 points, respectively, as the Warriors outplayed the University of Perpetual Help Altas, 70-61, in this cagefest supported by Gerry’s Grill.

Mark Doligon and Mark Montuano fired 13 and 11 points for the Icons, who trounced Trinity University of Asia, 87-59.

The Warriors picked up their fourth win in five games in Group B while the Icons improved at 1-1.

Kyles Lao, meawhile, sizzled with 35 points for the Xavier School Stallions, who walloped the UE Pages, 79-61, in the junior division.

The Stallions marched to their third consecutive win and joined the Chiang Kai Shek Dragons in the Group B lead.
