MANILA, Philippines – Filipino-American MMA fighter Brandon Vera returns to action on December 5 when he makes his ONE FC debut at the "Warrior's Way" fight card to be held at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Vera was cut by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in June but was signed by ONE FC just one month later.
He will be fighting at the heavyweight division. No opponent has been announced for Vera, who compiled an 8-7 record in his eight year-run with the UFC.
"I am so excited to compete in Manila for the first time for ONE FC," said Vera, as quoted by MMA Fighting. "The fans in the Philippines have been behind me my entire career."
"I want to repay their faith by giving them an exciting performance and bringing my best into the ONE FC cage for a victorious debut this December," he added.
Vera last fought in August 2013, when he was knocked out by Ben Rothwell at UFC 164. He won only one of his last six fights in the UFC, a unanimous decision against Eliot Marshall at UFC 137 on October 2011.
