MANILA, Philippines – The University of Perpetual Help System Dalta and the National College of Business and Arts (NCBA) posted contrasting wins in the 12th Fr. Martin Division 2 Cup last Saturday at the St. Placid Gym in San Beda.

Akhuetie Bright scored 16 points, Chrisper Elopre added 13, and Price Eze scored 12 points for the Altas as they romped to a fourth straight victory in Group A over Arellano University.

The Altas held the Chiefs to just eight points in the first quarter behind two triples from Elopre.

Meanwhile, Marlon Junio and Jeff Disquitado had 18 points each as the NCBA Wildcats escaped with an 86-82 win over Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) for their second win in four games in Group B.

The Wildcats leaned on two charities from Jeffrey Limpin in the last two seconds to hold off the Generals.

In the juniors division, San Sebastian College and Mapua Institute also booked victories of their own.

The Staglets beat the UST Tiger Cubs, 75-69, for their third win, while Mapua battered EAC-ICA, 87-45, behind a 15-point performance from Mario Unson for a 2-1 slate.

Games resume on Saturday with a five-game bill at the St. Placid gym, including the tiff between National University and Angeles University with the Bulldogs seeking a fourth straight win.

On Sunday, defending champion Ateneo clashes with EAC at 12:30 p.m. in another five-game setto at the FEU gym in Morayta.
