MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao’s training partner, junior welterweight champion Amir Khan, has Floyd Mayweather Jr. on his wish list for 2012.
“Hopefully next year in the summer. I want that fight. It's a fight I can win,” Khan told Fighthype.com.
Khan, the IBF and WBA junior welterweight champion, believes he’ll be ripe for a Mayweather fight in a year’s time.
He hopes the fight will take place in his turf in the United Kingdom.
“Imagine that, in the UK! Man, that would be huge! By next year, I'll be ready for him then 100%," said Khan.
However, it looks like he'll have to wait until Pacquiao faces Mayweather also in 2012.
Both Khan and Pacquiao are being trained by boxing coach Freddie Roach.
