Ana Julaton suffers first MMA defeat in Dubai
MANILA - Boxer and mixed martial arts fighter Ana Julaton was defeated by her Malaysian rival, Ann Osman, in their Flyweight bout at ONE FC's Reign of Champions at the Dubai World Trade Center on Friday.
ONE FC said Osman was declared the winner via split decision at 5:00 minutes of round 3.
The first round was dominated by Osman who used her superior wrestling skills against Julaton. She had Julaton in an armbar submission attempt as time expired in the first round. The Malaysian fighter attempted a second armbar on Julaton during the second round.
"But Julaton fought out of the position to get top position and rained down punches of her own. Julaton started the third round by stringing together an impressive boxing combination, but Osman managed to close the distance and take Julaton down. Julaton managed to reverse the position and landed several knees from guard," according to ONE FC.
"The Hurricane's" fight against "Athena" was her second. She won her first fight -- by knockout -- against Aya Saber.
