The tandem of Bernadette Pons and Charm Simborio defeated Ateneo's Michelle Morente and Jhoana Maraguinot, 21-15 and 21-7, Sunday at the UE Caloocan Court.

De La Salle University, meanwhile, continued its rise after a season-opening loss to FEU, as Kim Fajardo and Cyd Demecillo turned back Arylle Magtalas and Hannah Mangulabnan of the University of the Philippines, 21-17 and 21-17.
The Lady Spikers tied National University (NU) in third place with 2-1 records, while the Lady Maroons fell to 1-2, joining defending champion Adamson University in the fifth spot.
The highly regarded Lady Eagles, meanwhile, are winless in three starts, and the Season 76 third-placers are mired at the bottom of the league standings along with the University of the East (UE) and are in danger of missing the semi-finals.
In the men's division, Adamson forced a four-way tie for second place with a 22-20 and 21-16 victory over UE.
Posting their second win in three matches, the Falcons are tied with NU, Ateneo and FEU.
