MANILA, Philippines -- Arellano University survived a rollercoaster fourth quarter and pulled off a 101-98 come-from-behind win against San Sebastian in the 90th NCAA Men's Basketball eliminations at the Arena in San Juan on Wednesday.
The Stags led by as much as 12 point only to collapse in the dying minutes of the game.
Jiovani Jalalon, one of coach Jerry Codinera’s top guards in the Chiefs’ roster, churned out 19 points with four other teammates finishing in double figures.
CJ Perez paced the Stags, who fell to 3-7 with 23 points while Jamil Ortuoste, who averaged close to only three points per game in their last five games in the first round, had 20 markers.
The win enabled the Chiefs to tie the pace-setting San Beda Red Lions for the top spot in the standings with similar 8-2 marks.
