MANILA, Philippines – Jason “El Niño” Pagara will put his career on the line when he trades against his tormentor, Mexico’s Rosbel Montoya, in Pinoy Pride XV: The Rematch this Saturday.

Pagara wants to avenge his defeat to Montoya last September, which affected his status as a potential fight headliner.

El Niño was considered as Philippine boxing’s next big thing because of his superb ring performance and his knockout victories.

But the unanimous decision loss to Montoya has put Pagara’s future in doubt.

“I have put everything in the past now and I am very highly motivated. I want to prove not to anyone but myself that I can do it and can improve myself for my family’s sake. I am preparing myself to be the best fighter I can be for my rematch with Montoya and I will do all I can to win,” said Pagara in Boxing Scene.

Pagara will be facing Montoya at the main event of Pinoy Pride XV.

"I am anticipating a great fight. I feel strong and I am ready to fight," said Montoya in Philboxing.

In the supporting bout, Genesis 'Azukal' Servania will be fighting Mexican boxer Jorge “El Feroz” Pazos for the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) super bantamweight title.

Jimrex “The Executioner” Jaca, meanwhile, comes out from a long layoff and battles Angel "Arcangel' Martinez of Mexico.

ABS-CBN Channel 2 will air Pinoy Pride XV on Sunday starting 10:15 a.m.

There will also be a replay on Studio 23 at 6:15 p.m. also on Sunday.
