MANILA, Philippines – Powerade’s Gary David and Petron’s Arwind Santos emerged as the top performing players in terms of statistics during the 37th Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) season.
According to PBA.ph, David led the league in scoring by averaging 25.84 points per game.
He was followed by rookie Marcio Lassiter (17.13), James Yap (16.71), Mark Caguioa (16.32), Mark Cardona (15.80), Chris Lutz (15.38), Santos (15.00), Willie Miller (14.93), Cyrus Baguio (14.69) and Jayson Castro (14.68).
David topped the league in three-point field goals (3.00 per game outing) and free throws (6.14) en route to tallying the highest scoring average in the PBA, Allan Caidic’s 27.1 per outing with Presto Tivoli in 1991.
Meanwhile, Santos ruled the rebounding department with 10.674 per game. He also tallied 1.435 blocks per outing.
Santos, a perennial contender for the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award, registered a total of 491 boards.
Doug Kramer came in second in rebounding with 8.771 per game, followed by Asi Taulava (8.682), Sonny Thoss (8.314) and Rudy Hatfield (7.250).
Meanwhile, Japeth Aguilar is second to Santos in blocks (1.346), followed by Thoss (1.171), JR Quinahan (1.039) and Rob Reyes (0.842).
