Eagles eliminate Falcons, win Final 4 slot

The Ateneo Blue Eagles emerged victorious in the second elimination round of the 71st UAAP men’s basketball tourney Sunday and earned the first ticket to the final four by overwhelming the Adamson Soaring Falcons, 78-59.

Rabeh al-Hussaini led the Eagles into its ninth win by scoring 29 points during the Ateneo-Adamson match up at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

Eric Salamat also pitched in 17 points to help the Eagles pull away from the Falcons.

 

Ateneo, which is at the top of the standings, so far only lost once in this UAAP season while Adamson absorbed its eighth loss which led to its elimination from the semifinal race.

Following the Eagles are the De La Salle Archers, Far Eastern University Tamaraws, University of the East Warriors and the University of Sto. Tomas Tigers.

 

UP, NU and Adamson are in the bottom of the leaderboard with 2-8 win-loss records each.
