MANILA, Philippines – International mixed martial arts (MMA) star Andrei Arlovski said he wants to avenge his losses against Tim “The Maine-iac” Sylvia when they battle in Manila in ONE Fighting Championship (ONE FC) on August 31.
Arlovski lost 2 of his 3 bouts against Sylvia when they were still fighting in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
“On August 31st we're gonna be in a cage, it's gonna be a war because it's personal between me and Silva,” the 6’4” Belarusian said in a ONE FC promotional video.
Arlovski drew first blood by forcing Sylvia to submit in UFC 51 in 2005.
But in the following year, Sylvia came back with a stoppage victory against Arlovski in UFC 59. He again defeated Arlovski via unanimous decision in UFC 61.
“I'm looking forward to dropping Arlovski and seeing that he's hurt,” said Sylvia.
Arlovski, however, thinks he will victorious when they enter the cage at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“It's gonna be revenge, August 31st is revenge day for me. That's it,” he said.
Meanwhile, Filipino fighter Eduard Folayang promises his fans a good show when he battles Felipe Enomoto of Japan.
Folayang is the reigning Universal Reality Combat Championship welterweight champion and a Southeast Asian Games gold medalist in wushu.
