Alaska gets Menk; GlobalPort sends Salvador to Barako
MANILA, Philippines – Alaska Milk has acquired veteran Eric Menk in preparation for its campaign in the upcoming Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) season.
According to Snow Badua’s report to Spin.ph, the Aces gave up two second-round picks in the PBA rookie draft to GlobalPort to get the 39-year-old center.
Alaska will be Menk’s fourth team since making his PBA debut in 1999 for the Tanduay Rhum Masters.
The Aces reportedly decided to go for “Sgt. Slaughter” to make up for the absence of Gabby Espinas, who is recuperating from a fractured ankle.
Meanwhile, GlobalPort also traded Jondan Salvador in exchange for Barako Bull’s Mark Isip.
Isip averaged 5.25 points and 2.96 rebounds with the Energy Colas, while Salvador normed 2.18 points and 3.85 rebounds for the Batang Pier.
Both trades were approved by the Office of the PBA Commissioner.
