Lyceum turns back San Sebastian

MANILA, Philippines -- Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) trounced San Sebastian, 71-64, and finished its elimination round campaign on a bright note in the 90th NCAA basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan City on Wednesday.

The Pirates leaned on Wilson Baltazar and Joseph Gabayni who each dished out double-digit outputs against the Stags.

Wilson Baltazar exploded with 18 points, 14 of which came in the second half when the Pirates blew the game wide open.

Gabayni, on the other hand, muscled his way inside the paint and finished the game with 14 points, 14 boards, and two blocks.

Cameroonian Guy Mbida added 13 and Tirso Lesmoras chipped in 10.

The loss sent San Sebastian to a 3-5 win-loss slate.
