FULLERTON, California -- The reigning junior amateur golf champion Princess Superal went back to the links just days after winning the US Junior Girls championship.

This time she's getting ready for the older women at the US Women's Amateur Championship in Glen Cove, New York.

"Nape-pressure ng konti pero I'll just play my game and do my best," she said.

As she recalled her exploits in the junior championship, she got a surprise visit from one of the Philippines' most successful PGA golfers, Jennifer Rosales.

Superal said she didn't expect to win the US Girls' Junior championship given the level of competition she had to go through. "Hindi ko talaga ine-expect na manalo ako, so very, very happy ako talaga noon na nanalo ako," she said.

She has been in the US for the past two months with eight other junior golfers. Despite the expenses, they've been able to compete in a series of tournaments spanning across the US through the privately sponsored trip, competing at a new venue and bringing home new honors each week.

"Thank you po sa Dream Golf Foundation and kay Mr. [Enrique] Razon [of ICTSI] na tumutulong sa national golf kasi without them di kami nakaka punta dito and hindi kami nakaka sali sa tournaments," said Superal.

Superal tees off against some of the world' stop amateur women in Glen Cove on Tuesday. And after the week-long tournament, she will finally go home.

But their work doesn't stop there as they will prepare for the qualifiers of the 2016 Olympic Games.
